to us. what i've said to prime minister netanyahu is that given so far the talks are moving forward in a constructive way, it makes sense to extend that moratorium so long as the talks are moving in a constructive way. because ultimately the way to solve these problems is for the two sides to agree what's it going to be, israel? what's going to be the state of palestine, and if you can get that agreement then you can start constructing anything that the people of israel see fit. in undisputed areas. now, i think the politics for prime minister netanyahu are very difficult. his coalition, i think, there are a number of members of his coalition who've said we don't want to continue this. and so, you know, one of the things that i said to president abbas is you've got to show the israeli public that you are serious and constructive in these talks so that the politics for prime minister netanyahu, if he were to extend the settlement's moratorium would be a little bit easier. and, you know, one of the goals i think that i've set for myself and for my team is

, the corner of 18th and florida avenue. the driver of the car behind us slammed into a well known ethiopian restaurant in adams morgan. fire officials say two female pedestrians were struck and transported with serious injuries. both are in their 20's. one of them is in very critical condition. the female driver at the scene was irate, detained with handcuffs, put in the police car. she was arrested and refused treatment at the scene. the car drove right through the front of the business, shattering the store front bay window. the police are trying to figure out exactly what went wrong here. >> i cannot figure out how she did it. taking out the entire restaurant and two people. this is a busy intersection, but coming down where she was, there is no sense to it. >> still a big police scene, trying to figure out what happened, interviewing witnesses, trying to figure out if the woman was speeding or not. this entire area between 18th and florida is completely closed to vehicular traffic. >>> we are also following breaking news from springfield. nine people have been transported to hospital af

>>> good morning. and thanks for being with us on this friday. witnesses say a monstrous blast came out of nowhere. and suddenly, their entire neighborhood was up in flames. >> that fire is still raging out of control in the city of san bruno, fueled by a broken gas line and some very strong winds. flames have devoured dozens of homes. at least one person has died and many more are injured. don guevara joins us now. >> reporter: good morning. we are near what is being called the epicenter of this massive explosion. we're told at that spot there is a crater 15 feet wide. the asphalt is melted. there's a pipe that's sticking out that's also melted. all this is where that gas line is said to have exploded, resulting in more than 50 homes being destroyed and at least one person dead. a massive fire roared through this residential neighborhood of san bruno, california, throughout the night. fire officials confirmed a 24-inch gas main explosion was responsible for the blaze, which reduced dozens of home to ash within an hour. >> the fireball was, you know, 100 feet or more in the air. all
